I have been struggling with game development for some time, and I think Stop Trying to Learn Everything Before Starting hits the nail on the head. I’ve always been a big proponent of learning through experience, but at some point in my career of building business applications/websites, I started fearing the code and what may happen if I don’t think everything out in advance. It has made it very difficult to get anything done. I’ve been aware of this problem for some time, but I think I really need a success in order to drive it home that I shouldn’t be scared to just DO IT.

With that said, I’ve decided to attempt the One Game a Month concept, and while I’m too late to get one in for January, today is the perfect day to start one for February. I’m going to try to get my mind out of the digital world for awhile (where there are far too many previous experiences to deter me) and try to make a card/board game as my first.
